The alarming increase of living expenses, limited jobs, due to rapid growth of population and urbanization, whilst drop of currency and crucial shortage of low cost housing in our Metropolitan cities has became a major problem and worry for low-income families and newly-married couple who still don’t have ability to afford and own their house that the market provided. Therefore, modular housing is introduced, with designated arrangement and planning, it provides cheaper but yet almost the same quality that normal housing gives.

ISSUES

1. Current housing faces high crime rate due to weak community bond and poor relationship among neighbors.

2. Living expenses, limited jobs, due to rapid growth of population and urbanization, whilst drop of currency increases needs and crucial shortage of low cost housing.

3. Rapid growth of urban population led to high demand of housing, forces overexploitation of land for housing development. Poor efficiency of land proper planning causes wastages of land.

4. Traditional construction that focus on customization consumes more time, labor and cost that is not encourage for affordable housing.

AIM

To create a prototype of mass housing unit within minimum area of land with high end quality living environment that can be achieved within affordable cost with strong community bond. Also, able to self sustain resources such as energy, food, water and etc.

OBJECTIVES

1. Affordable, low cost housing by introducing modular construction

2. Create strong community bond without exposing privacy of individual families/ users

3. Achieving green, natural ventilation/ sunlight

4. Wise use of limited resources/ land. 

5. Self-sustainable resources(energy, food, water)
