Architecture Design Studio II
Architecture Design Studio 2 is a continuation from Design Studio 1. The key emphasis of this studio is “User and Context”, which investigates the relationship between user and natural environment.
Us as students have undertaken a series studio based exercises and assignments that introduce the principles and methods of analysis, abstraction, and synthesis in design thinking that are common to many design fields, including building and architecture.
PROJECT1Famous People, Familiar Faces / 01
Project 1 requires students to investigate and explore how the forms and spaces are created from architectural elements and translating into digrammatic models to express the architectural ideas.
For this project, We are required to do analysis on Le Corbusier's Villa Savoye in which we explored the architectural elements that is included inside Villa Savoye which included the five points of architecture (Free Plan, Pilotis, Roof Garden, Ribbon Window, Free Facade) and etc.
From this project, I have developed the skill in translating an idea into diagrammatic models which could represent as an abstractive forms of the building.
PROJECT2 SITE ANALYSIS OF CAPE ROCHADO, PORT DICKSON, FOR FOLLOWING PROJECTS/02
Our first project has taught us to investigate and do research acurrately on existing site. Also, the information is critical for further projects use, and teaches us how to work in a huge group.
PROJECT2a Observation Deck / 02a
In this project, we’re tasked to design an Observation Deck at Cape Rachado, Port Dickson
for the purpose of observing the views. The aim of this project is to generate structure, form and space through architectural conceptualization with the emphasis on the user requirement, ergonomics and site responding to develop an architectural proposition. Besides, the structure of the deck should correspond to the site that we have chosen. A proper site analysis which includes climatic studies, circulation pattern, views and vistas, etc. thus should be done beforehand.
PROJECT2b Retreat House / 02b
In this final project, we’re tasked to design a Retreat House at Cape Rachado, Port Dickson which denotes ‘A place affording peace, quiet, privacy and security’ ..... where its occupant(s) would reside for a short period of time. My client is a serious ballet dancer. In short, this project introduces the notion of architectural space making through the design of a user specific architectural scheme. It explores the relationship between architectural tectonics, function and space in architecture.
